Nursing Friendly Bras

I thought the most difficult of pregnancy would be my changing body. No, in fact. It is not. The hardest part of pregnancy and post-partum is trying to find bras that are actually realistic for a ginormous pregnant lady’s boobs to fit into. I mean who designs these bras anyway?

It took me WEEKS to research, buy, return, buy, and try on these bras and I finally have a good rotation of bras that are comfortable, breathable, and SUPPORTIVE! Ready? Let’s go!

Let’s list them in order of favorites, shall we?

  1. Cake Croissant T-shirt Nursing Bra

This one literally takes the cake, lol. Sorry, couldn’t resist. But really. Let’s just bear our souls to each other for a moment, shall we? When I was freshly postpartum and everything was so engorged and swollen my back, neck, and shoulders hurt so bad. When I had my consultation with my lactation consultant she instructed me under no uncertain terms to find a bra that is more supportive, especially since I was bigger to begin with even without pregnancy. And one that has additional sling support as well. Needless to say I absolutely love it and it is 100% worth the money!

2. Bravado Original Nursing Bra

Let’s raise our hands up for this amazingly comfy COTTON nursing bra shall we? It’s supportive, comfortable, has no underwire and is breathable. To be honest, I probably wouldn’t have loved this one the first month of being super engorged and swollen, but after things calmed down a little bit, this quickly became another one of my favorites!

3. Body Silk Seamless Nursing Bra

Another wire-free favorite! This one is very supportive, the perfect tight fit but also loose enough so you can actually breathe! The only thing that isn’t my favorite about it is that it’s made out of nylon and spandex and leaves you rather sweaty, milky, and stinky ( if you get sweaty). Sorry that may be TMI but I can’t deal with sweaty stinky boobs.

4. Motherhood Maternity Full Coverage Nursing Bra

Ok so this one- I have a mixed review honestly. I hate that the fabric isn’t breathable because once again- stinky boobs. But I love the fact that it is full coverage, has no underwire, and is still supportive. This was my number one go to for those first few weeks when my breasts were still really full and engorged because there was room for my breasts to get full and shrink down without any restrictions. Definitly loved for the first month or two but most likely won’t continue using it.

5. Cake Tutti Frutti Nursing Bra

Being totally honest here, have not tried this one, but anything made from mostly bamboo fabric has to be amazing. And the reviews are all fantastic. This one is going to be the next one I add to my collection for sure.

6. Cotton Sleep Bras

These are an absolute must-have! 100% cotton so they are breathable and won’t leave me all sweaty and feeling irritated and itchy. They’re loose-fitting which is what you want those first few days so you’re milk can flow but you’ll still need something there to help hold your nursing pads in and make so you don’t leak all over the place. These are perfect!
